PBS NewsHour: ReBrand
As a key contributor to the Broadcast Package 2018 project, my mission was to revamp the NewsHour’s visual identity while maintaining the brand’s timeless qualities such as its iconic music, color scheme, and overall clean aesthetic. My deliverables included a series of dynamic opening animations, headline transitions, graphics, and lower-thirds, as well as customizable templates for tweets, websites, quotes, and news headlines that stayed true to the brand’s guidelines.
In addition, I led the creative direction for the entire rebrand, which extended beyond on-air graphics and into marketing and promotional materials such as mailers, newsletters, business cards, and press badges. To ensure maximum impact, I also crafted a range of topical and generic 30-second promos that were distributed nationwide across all PBS stations.
The result was a comprehensive and cohesive package that not only elevated the NewsHour’s visual identity but also reinforced its position as a trusted and influential source of news and information.
